System requirements
Starting the application
Click on the link at the top of this page. The loader starts in a new window. If it has loaded the whole application, Flash asks you to allow local to access your microphon and camera. Please allow this because the dashboard will use your microphon to let K.I.T.T. "speak" through his voice module. On the welcome screen click the "START" button to go to the dashboard. The parts of the dash appear and K.I.T.T. starts automatically his engine and dashboard and you can hear the turbine sound.
Elements of the dashboard
Showing and moving the dash
You can move the dashboard with the drag and drop method. Whereever you drag and drop with the mouse on the screen, it always moves the dash. To show the whole dashboard hit the key "Z" (zoom). This is a toggle switch, you can switch between original size and small size picture.
Turn off/on the dashboard
Use the "POWER" button under the monitors to turn your dash off and on again.
Using the steering wheel
Use the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard to turn the steering wheel. You can sound the horn by clicking on the knight logo on the right side of the steering wheel.
Driving mode
Use the "AUTO", "NORM" and "PURSUIT" buttons under the monitors to choose the driving mode. To make it easier for you, you can also click on the "AUTO CRUISE", "NORMAL CRUISE" and "PUSUIT" lights under the voice module to choose the mode.
If you choose "PURSUIT", look at the speedometer and tachometer displays and listen to the sound effects. You can zoom out with the key "Z" to see the whole dashboard.
Driving
Use the up and down arrow keys on the keyboard to speed up and down the car. Listen to the sound of the speedometer and look at the tachometer and the displays under it. Listen what happens if you reach the maximum speed...
You can reset the speed display by clicking on the 3 yellow LEDs above the red bar.
The distance display (left bottom part of tha dash) counts the distance that is determined by the current speed. You can reset the distance display by clicking on the 3 yellow LEDs above the red bar.
Voice module
Use your microphone to let K.I.T.T. talk through his voice module. If you speak into the microphone you can see him talking. Click on the red area of the voice module and he will introduce himself.
Video phone
The right monitor is the video phone. Click on the display to enter into the phone mode. You can see here pictures about Devon, Bonnie and April. Click on the current picture to go to the next one. After you clicked on the last picture, the phone turns off automatically.
Using the switchpods
At the bottom of the screen you can see on both left and right sides the upper part of the switchpods. Move the cursor over them, they come out and are totally visible. You can activate the functions there by clicking on the buttons.
